We would love to have your articles featured on our blog. In order to accomplish this in an efficient manor, and also to avoid and possible legal disputes, let's first set some "ground rules."
Topics
We are always open to suggestions on article topics, but all topics must be tangential to web design: e.g. Internet, technology, software, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), etc.
Images & Video
Minimum number of images per post is one, maximum is four. Images that are not originally by the author must be properly cited, and a link to the original source included. Images must be uploaded to our server and therefore cannot be loaded from an off-site source. We will operate under the assumption that the article author has sufficient use rights to include any and all images or videos in every post submitted for consideration (basically, make sure you have permission to use the images and/or videos).
Article Length
An ideal and preferred article length is between 300 and 500 words. We may accept articles that fall outside this range, but that will be decided on an article by article basis. If it's an exceptional article, we will consider it.
Editing
It is up to the author to make sure the article is in 100% publishable condition prior to submission. If there are too many issues, we will continue to reject the article until necessary changes are made. We will make all final edits to prepare the post for publishing.
Publishing
All submitted articles must pass our final editing review; after final edits are complete, we will publish said article on a prescheduled date.
Exclusivity
All articles submitted must be exclusively provided to us. We will not accept duplicate articles. If a published article is found to be a duplicate, we will take it down immediately. In addition, we will also revoke the author's editorial site access.
Links
Links must provide useful, relevant information to the reader. Affiliate links will be removed and excessive linking will not be tolerated. All links within the body of the articles will be "nofollowed." Exceptions may be made for truly exceptional articles.
Byline Signature
We ask that each author provide a 30-50 word byline signature with every article. We will include this short bio at the end of each article. It may include one outgoing, followed link to the author's website or blog.
Site Access
An account will be set up for each author. Authors will have the ability to view, create, and edit their own unpublished articles only.
Final Statement
We reserve the right to decline or revoke publication of any article, at any time, for any reason.
